Public institutions are also part of this fabric. In fact, they were among the first to commit to implementing electronic management and invoicing systems. If you are a business owner and have worked with public bodies, you surely know what we are talking about. In that case, terms like SII, Peppol, the Crea y Crece Law\u2026 and will sound familiar to you.<\/span>FACeB2B<\/b>.<\/span><\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n

The term FACeB2B refers to a platform designed and launched by the Spanish Government itself. However, as a concept, it encompasses much more. Its objective is to promote and boost online invoicing for businesses, and it raises many questions and queries that we will try to resolve in the following lines. <\/span><\/p>\n

What is FACeB2B?<\/b><\/h2>\n

\u201cFACeB2B is the <\/span>electronic invoice distribution platform made available to economic operators and individuals to enable the submission of invoices between subcontractors and contractors for Public Sector contracts<\/b>\u201d. This is the definition of <\/span>FACeB2B<\/b> provided by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation itself, which is the entity that launched it through the General Secretariat for Digital Administration. <\/span><\/p>\n

As we mentioned, it is a platform promoted by the Government itself and is legally regulated. In fact, its mandatory nature is established by law, specifically in the thirty-second additional provision of <\/span>Law 9\/2017 on Public Sector Contracts.<\/b> Likewise, you can register for it whether you are a client or an invoice service company, as offered by the official <\/span>FACeB2B official page<\/b><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The idea for this tool was proposed by the Public Administration in 2015. It came into force shortly after. The fact is that with its implementation and <\/span>the mandatory nature of e-invoicing for Spanish companies,<\/b><\/a> the government aims to optimize taxation within the business sector. In this context, FACeB2B has become a fantastic ally to achieve this. <\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, although its use is currently only required for companies that conduct operations with the Public Administration, <\/span>FACeB2B advocates for the implementation of e-invoicing in the private sector.<\/b> To this end, it also optionally allows the free and unlimited exchange of invoices between non-governmental companies, offering numerous advantages. <\/span><\/p>\n

Is it mandatory for any company to register with FACeB2B?<\/b><\/h2>\n

It depends. Currently, <\/span>to send e-invoices, it is not necessary<\/b>. In fact, you don’t need to complete any procedures with the Public Administration to register. It’s sufficient to have good invoicing software implemented that is accepted by FACeB2B. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, <\/span>it is mandatory to register with FACeB2B to receive e-invoices<\/b>. For this, the company must: <\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Register with DIRe,<\/b> which is the Directory of Entities that provides each company with a unique alphanumeric code. <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Register with FACeB2B<\/b> to start operating with the code assigned to you. <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Authorize an Invoicing Service Company (ESF)<\/b> to access the platform on its behalf to download the invoices issued to it. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In any case, the business sector is moving towards a context where e-invoicing will be mandatory for any company, including self-employed professionals, regardless of whether the operation is with a public entity or belongs to the private sector. Therefore, why not adapt as soon as possible? <\/span><\/p>\n

    What functionalities does this platform offer? <\/b><\/h2>\n

    Like many other applications that have emerged in the wake of <\/span>digital transformation,<\/b><\/a> FACeB2B offers multiple advantages:<\/b> traceability, resource optimization, improvements in tax aspects and communication with the AEAT for businesses.
