However, <\/span><b>it clearly states that invoices must be legible, authentic, and complete. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Therefore, invoices, regardless of the language, must comply with four principles:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Legibility:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> the invoice must be clear and understandable to the Administration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Authenticity:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> the translation cannot alter the veracity of the original content.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Retention:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> if an invoice is translated, you must retain both the original and the translated versions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Legal Responsibility:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in case of a translation error, the receiving company may be penalized if an expense is incorrectly deducted or if there are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.easyap.com\/blog\/preguntas-y-respuestas-frecuentes-sobre-la-factura-con-iva-e-irpf\/\"><b>problems, for example, with VAT invoices<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AEAT Recommendations:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additionally, the Tax Agency itself aims to assist with the complex issue of invoice translation. To this end, it provides three recommendations: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Translate invoices to Spanish if they are to be submitted to the Tax Agency. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Keep in mind that although they can be submitted in another language, translating the invoice will streamline and facilitate the process.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Retain both versions (original and translated).<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Have the translation performed by qualified personnel <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">or with tools that guarantee fiscal accuracy.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What data must a translated invoice contain?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What is clear is that, whether in Spanish or translated, the invoice must fully retain all mandatory fields required by Spanish legislation and faithfully reflect the data of the original document.
